Big Tape has been chipping away at the Dallas underground hip-hop landscape with the occasional dropping of a single here and there. His first real push though comes in the form of his debut 5 track ep Two Piece Dark.
His strong grasp on lyrical structuring shines all throughout this small project. It’s this lyrical aptitude on his behalf, that when combined with the chill and wavy production that is featured on Two Piece Dark, that creates a head-bopping listening experience. Big Tape has a sharp vocal tone and wavy flow which screams Texas which is well representative of his current residence in Dallas.
Another equally impressive aspect of Two Piece Dark is the smoothness of its production. Nior, the projects fifth and final track, perfectly summarizes the overall vibe. Its instrumental inclusion of classic piano keys and brass brings the piece to a warm simmer that is maintained at that point by Big Tapes guiding vocals.
